I had been showing abstract and glitch art in various art galleries for many years and one night in 2022, I had this idea to create a series of paintings that would look like they were copied from imaginary movies. Beginning to research cinematic art, discovering the work of great keyframe artists working in the film industry was pivotal. I began to learn keyframe art and concept art in general, realizing there were many skills that had to be learned in order to create a high quality keyframe. These pieces of futuristic Detroit took nearly two years of study to create. Having lost half of my family at the end of the Covid-19 Pandemic, not to the virus, but to other circumstances; a new found passion for concept art gave me a welcome therapeutic release and coping mechanism for that loss. Writing this now, in March of 2024, I know that I intend to continue to pursue concept art and production art, either as a career in creating films and games, or as a new aesthetic to be applied in future gallery art.
